For those people looking for "Everything's Fine", order a copy of "Sparky's Dinner" from Amazon.com. Rather sorry to point out you can buy a used copy there for $0.01!! Thta's really not right, that CD is worth at least $50 as anyone who owns it will attest.

Great to see you're still struttin your stuff!!
Thought of you lately as I downloaded After the Fire's 'One Rule For You' from iTunes -Dont think it is the original though.
Guess what - going to see Ian Hunter in the 'pool in May - emailed him to thank him for all the years of great music and he only emailled me back - how cool is that!!
Lost your email address along the way - I'd love to hear from you and who knows hear the Brides live.

'ello,
I'm all the way out here, tragically in the 'States, and
found myself watching my copy of "The Match" again. Each
time I watch that movie, I have to listen to the closing
song until its completion, titled "Deep and Meaningless",
purportedly by "The Luvvies". Each time, I wish I could
hear more from them, but to no avail. I recently found that
it was actually the "Surfing Brides" who wrote and performed
the song, just listing themselves under a different name
for the movie. Tragically I cannot seem to find a way
to get their Album, "Deep and Meaningless" here in the
'States, and was curious as to how I might purchase
a copy way over here.
Thanks,
Sean

Thanks to everyone for all the nice things you've been saying,it has been a bit scarey playing without Jez recently, (he's still on honeymoon or something..) but Neil has been awe inspiring on piano and organ. He has madly agreed to join us from now on (whenever he's in the country). Thanks to everyone who has said they liked the cd and sorry to everyone who said they didn't. The idea has been to put out the tracks we've recorded in various spaces over the past wee while in order to finance going into the studio and banging out all the new songs. We've got about twenty or so possibles that we'll chop out to about twelve. We'll keep the best and feed the rest to Drew's cat, that way nothing gets wasted. Its not easy being in the laziest band in the world but I promise we are really going to try to 'put it around' a little bit more in future. love and love Sean

I don't know much of your music, but I do recall in the mid 90's you did a song called "everythings fine" and I LOVE THAT SONG!!!!!!! I would love to know where I could find it, it's been years since I have heard it, but I still know it by heart, it's just one of those songs that I will never forget, and I just can't seem to live without it. So if you could please be of any assistance in locating it, it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!! Your fan, Laura, Michigan, USA

Remember the band as the infamous "Johnny Dice Experiance" at
Bobs Good time blues Bar, Railway hotel, west london.
Jez used to do a version of sweet Jane that would make jimi weep for joy and lou proud.
The song "Goodmorning Mr Blackbird" was possibly the best tune I ever heard.
We always left the country to a version of kookamoola and a konga line through the pub.
Love the site. Aimee's site too. Her druming did have that certain beat.
Best wishes for the Future.

Mila from Bulgaria
She claims she is 41, from Plovdiv, Plovdivski Okrug, Bulgaria, 5' 6" (167 cm), average build, light brown hair, blue eyes, no kids, teacher, bachelor degree, English speaker.
I am a short, fat and old man, retired, from UK.
I knew her through the site "UK Singles Connection".
She never sent me letters, we just chatted at the site.
I asked her pics, but I just saw her through the webcam.
Since the initial chattings she started to tell about her bad conditions of life.
So she requested money for English lessons.
I had sent her money through Western Union.
Then she asked me a summer trip to Baltic Sea.
We met there, and suddenly she stoled me cash at the beach and disappeared.
I informed the site, but they did anything.
Her profile continues there.

To Doug Lighthall,
Wow!You must be a detective sir!
Yes, we did record "Deep and Meaningless" as the Luvies.
It isn't out in any shape or form as yet. We are hoping to
release a couple of cds by the end of summer. The first one
will be a collection of our most recent recordings and will
include the film version of this song.
We'll be sure to let you know when this is available.
In the mean time thanks for your diligence.

Thanks to everyone who came to the Globe last week, we all had
a great night.
It was great to see Little Jimmy agreeing to using a microphone
and adding to the vocals. I agree with the drink girls that
he's the best singer in the band.
Jez blew me apart with some of noises that were coming out of
his guitar. I forgot I was playing a couple of times 'cos I
was having so much fun listening. Drew and Jimmy make playing
in this group such an honour.
We are trying to scape some money together in order to put out
our second and third cd (more news about this soon)
There is also a nutsy idea about re-recording Sparky's Dinner
in one go. The plan is set up in a village hall, have Mick mic
up the drums and amps, count backwards from ten and play the
whole album in one go, very loud. For some reason "Kookamoola"
never made it on the album so we'll correct that ommision.
A big hello to our American friends who have been saying such
nice things.
As Jimmy says
"Don't go changing"

For Pamella,You must have been locked up in jail for a long time,if you've never heard of "Stormy Monday".One of the greatest blues songs ever.Ask the Diceman if you don't believe me.

After traveling for hours on a plane just to see the Brides, i was very disappointed to see a young woman on the stage at the Globe who totally looked like she should be on a street corner!.
Joking aside the other four boys were doing so much better without her....especially that sexy Dartnell...he relly knows how to shake his sticks!!!

Surfing Brides for Surfing Brothers. Lets get together and go bowling. It's not all work, work, work. I've a magic bean in my pocket that looks like Dartnell. Keep it real.

Hey Rugby Fan,
I'll ask Jez to chalk out the chords for Everything's Fine.
How come no Irish teams are playing in Dublin for the Heineken Cup Final?

I bought 'Everything's fine' CD single YEARS ago after hearing it on the radio. Had totally forgotten about it until I found it again yesterday. It's still class!! Any chance you could post up the chords or tab for it? I'd love to be able to play it for my mates.

So pleased you're still doing it; I will make a pilgrimage to a gig to witness with own eyes etc. Still hum the old tunes and am teaching my son (Milo,4) what I can remember of 'Little Rocket'. When he's bigger I'll tell him about Rome. Go placidly amid the noise and hyste! Much love Sharkie Beamish xx

Hi Sean
It has been a long while since we last met up, but I still
play your stuff. Little Blue Planet and Too Much Television
still rank amongst my all time favs. A friend of mine told
me you are playing the Water Rat tonight, at first shocked
to hear the band was still gigging, then I remembered just how
committed you were to it all.
Hope you are well
Bob (wondering if you remember me)

Great gig at the Globe; I hope it's the first of many. Heard good reports from some of the Globe regulars.
Haven't seen the Brides since the good old days of the Station Tavern.
In response to Sean's letter asking for requests, I would love to hear 'Sugar Like That' again.

Many thanks to everyone who came along to the Globe.
What a lovely place. What a lovely bunch of people.
It was our first show with Mick's new PA and all reports
suggest the sound was as good out front as it was for us on
stage.
It was great fun to play stuff like "Kookamoola" which
we haven't done in years.
Any requests please stick 'em on the site (don't be shy)
See you all soon
Love and Peace
Sean

Message for Drew,
Hi Drew, I'm a blast from the past from about Augustish 1994.
I was one of the girlies living at the Tavern along with Jane
& Tasch & Tracy and I can't remember everyone else's names.
It's great to see you guys still gigging (although with some
unfamiliar faces - although I guess I couldn't take my eyes off
you and your cute legs). Finding this website really brought
back some great memories, wish I was back there now! Seeya, Kathy

I first heard one of your tracks in the late nineties on Radio 1 at about 3am.
The track was "Everythings Fine" and just summed up my frame of mind at the time. Since hearing that I have been looking for the album. I searched for years for it and have just found a site in the US that stock it. It's paid for and on it's way. I hope the rest of the album is as good as that one track.
Glad to see there's another album on the way. Good music is so hard to find with today's pop crap taking all the limelight.
